W. Rath: The future of geometry - 3D competence
Two main tasks of descriptive geometry are the solution of constructive problems and the visualization of objects and relations in 3D-space. During last centuries sophisticated methods were developed to perform these tasks with the aid of 2D-views. Nowadays the appropriate tool is the use of 3D-software. This tool enables us to implement solutions of 3D-problems in 3D directly, to generate impressive graphics of 3D-scenes and to deal with geometric objects like free form surfaces. Moreover with the use of 3D-software we are able to solve even extensive 3D-problems easily and within short time.
