Change to load intensity due to the use of poles in running of young long-distance runners

We have assessed response of human body to change to the load due to the use of poles in running of young long-distance runners in our study. We have compared the measured values of lactate and average heart beat with the values from running at the same speed without the poles. We have reviewed the effects of use of the poles in the run taken by intensity of the load between aerobic and anaerobic threshold. On voluntary basis, seven men at age 16.4±1.8 years with average weight 62.4±6.7 kg and body height 177.6±5.2 cm, and nine women at age 16.3±1.9 years with average weight 54.2±5.6 kg and body height 166.1±4.7...
Efficiency of serving teams on different surfaces in men's tennis doubles

Tennis serve has different efficiency on different surfaces. Every surface has specific characteristics and has different effects on a ball impact and ball bounce. Our aim is to compare service efficiency on different surfaces in tennis doubles at professional tennis tournaments ATP (Association of tennis professionals). The matches were played on clay, hard and grass courts. With the help of match records, we found, that the most service points were won on grass courts; and the least service points on clay courts. The present article is a detailed historical case study of football in České Budejovice in the interwar period. It was, at that time, the third largest town in Bohemia and can successfully serve as demonstration of gradual development of the organizational structure of football clubs in larger Czech towns then. For the purpose of case study the two-national character of local football presents an indisputable advantage. There was only one renowned German football club there, but at the end of the 20s it had the best performance of all home clubs in České Budějovice and from the national perspective it ranked among the absolute elite of German football...

The presented article discusses the history of one of the important sports unions from south Bohemia during interwar period. YMCA České Budějovice tried to popularize a large number of sports in south Bohemia. This sports union wanted to accomplish this task by organizing a lot of meetings and competitions. Not just for sports clubs, but for schools as well. The sportsmen of YMCA České Budějovice also took part in lot of meetings and competitions which were organized by other teams. The aim of this study is to assess the swimming endurance level of students in physical education at the Faculty of Education, University of J.E.Purkyne in Usti nad Labem. The study is based on realisation of the 12-minutes test of continuous swimming. This test is used to evaluate how the general level of fitness aerobic, specific fitness aerobic in the water and also verifies the effective management of swimming locomotion.
