Movement activities of physical education teachers

The text is concerned with a question, if Czech physical education teachers have an active approach to sport and other movement acitivities and also if they engage in them in their leisure time. Other goal of the study was to compare population of these teachers in primary and secondary school and to find out signs of trend or some rule. The data from both groups of respondents were collected by a questionnaire and a research sample was chosen by a stratified proportional selection. The results make the evidence of visible differences between both teachers' groups and also say that some groups of teachers are not devoted to sport and movement activities...

The incidence of obesity among children aged 10 to 11 in České Budějovice

The main aim of this thesis is to determine the occurrence of obesity in school children attending primary schools in České Budějovice, especially 10 and 11 years old. We used of body mass index, age and sex - BMI percentile graph. The findings were compared against the Parizkova and Lisa method (2007). It was discovered that 5.13% of the responded girls and 6.67% of the boys are obese. The results suggest that out of 195 participants, 11.5% of them suffer from obesity and that the occurrence of obesity is more frequent in boys.

Analysis of the pre-game warm-up at football players - FC Barcelona, AC Milan, Spanish and Czech national teams

The aim of this pilot study was to analyze the pre-game warm-up of two European teams - FC Barcelona, AC Milan and two national teams - Spanish and Czech ones. The data were gathered during the qualification period for the European Championship in Poland in 2012 and during the contest period of the Champions League in the 2011/2012 season. Different types of warm-up activities were analyzed. We compared individual variances of pre-game warm-ups between clubs and national teams. Total body water as the indicator of an acclimatization in altitude

The aim of the work was to observe the modifications of Total Body Water (TBW) during training camps of endurance runners at the different levels of altitude (Czech Republic's altitude 1 000 m, Morroco's altitude1 770 m). The same intervention programme was applied. The goal of this experiment was to find out if modifications of TBW could be used for the indication course in the acclimatization and adaptation. The measuring was of Bioelectrical Impedance (BIA) method with the Bodystat 1500 apparatus. Changes of selected functional parameters on treadmill and cross-country treadmill for cross-country skiers

The study evaluates changes in selected functional parameters on cross country skiing treadmill in ski runners. Nine juniors (9 male, 0 female) underwent spiroergometric examination on treadmill and cross country treadmill, respectively. Maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) and maximal heart rate (HRmax) using by sporttester POLAR RS 800 CX were evaluated. Results showed significant (p=0,038) lower values of VO2max on cross country treadmill than on treadmill (52.0 ± 5.03 ml.kg-1.min-1; 65.9 ± 3.02 ml.kg-1.min-1). Overview of the development of various streams of German physical education in the Czech lands

The article focuses on a survey of the history of German physical education organizations in the Czech Lands and Czechoslovakia from the beginning of their activity in the second half of the 19th century to their ending in May 1945. It primarily tries to give their most accurate division into individual streams and at the same time to capture the differentiation stimuli in this movement. The whole issue can be divided into three, from each other quite different periods. In the first period up to 1918 there was a gradual increase in the number of members and units and subsequently a strong differentiation of this movement mainly on political basis....
