The aim of this contribution is to summarize and discuss researches of physical and motor development of preschool children. Monitoring of physical and motor development can give us important information about healthy physical growth of children population. Evaluation of physical development has a long tradition in the Czech Republic and its measurement standarts are centile growth charts of body length. The author in his article solves the problem of interests of pupils at basic schools in martial arts. The research sample was consisted from 330 puplis of basic schools in Poprad, Svit and Kežmarok. The main research method was questionare. The author found out that martial arts are very popular among pupils, both between boys and girls. The pupils prefered basic martial arts. In the contribution the author deals with swimming performance of students who apply for studying at Department of Physical Education, University of Matej Bel in Banska Bystrica, in the years 2007/2008 and 2008/2009. The author evaluates the achieved results of applicants from two criteria. The first criterion is quality and the second criterion is the obtained technique of swimming styles. The Use of Water Polo in Teaching (Training) Swimming

This article refers about use of water polo in teaching and training swimming. It gives some exercise that could be used during training. This exercise gives excellent opportunity to stay in shape for swimming while providing a much-needed break from the rigors and boredom which can accompany swim training. Tranformation of education of sports in lessons of physical education, where is gymnastics included as a part of basic learning subject is envolving. The young men are interested more in acrobatic gymnastics and body building, young girls in aerobics, rhytmic gymnastics and dance. Analysis of peak performance age in swimming deuring 1970-2007

The aim of this paper was process and evaluates peak performance age in swimming. Based on data analysis of top worlds championships (World Championship in short pool, and Olympic Games) were analyzed age of first three swimmers - both gender. All results are presented using data dissemination graphs and basic statistical methods (file size, absolute minimum, absolute maximum, arithmetic mean, standard deviation). The influence of selected factors on the performace of sport climbers

The two studies followed basic characteristics of the sport climbing performance. The first study focuses on the skillfullness of the performance climbers (competing in the Difficulty Climbing Czech Cup) and the length of their climbing practice.
