Tactics and strategy in tennis doubles

We have focused on the use of basic tactical variants of the serving team in tennis doubles - classical formation, Australian formation and "I-formation". We compared the number of these variants between the adults and juniors category. Next, we watched the composition and the number of strokes in men's and women's doubles. The doubles matches (N=40) from important national and international tournaments were videotaped. The influence of aerobics on middle-aged women's heart rate variability

The aim was to assess the influence of a six-month long dance aerobics program on the heart rate variability of middle-aged women. Forty women (40 - 55 years) with sedentary occupation without regular physical activity joined the study. The Experimental group (n=21) participated in dance aerobics lessons combined with resistance training three times a week for a six months. Impact of strength workout program on gymnastic skills adoption level

The objective of the study was to demonstrate the positive impact of of strength workout program on gymnastic skills adoption level at middle school aged girl. During the twelve weeks on selected group of girls (N=31) has been applied an exercise program, which included a diagnosis of power abilities and motor skills. The results of this pilot study show that the inclusion of regular ten-workout program in school physical education has a positive effect on the gymnastic skills adoption level of girls 6 - grade. The program is most useful in the context of thematic whole gymnastics.

In the article we present an overview of contemporary research concerned with aggression in children and youth in the context of sport. Sport represents an important social environment in which aggressive behavior may be either encouraged or regulated. The presented article deals with the history of physical education and sport at YMCA's summer camps in Czechoslovakia. These camps were the area, where the sports, which were still relatively unknown in Czechoslovakia in the twentieth century, started their growing. This "American sports" came to the Czechoslovakia through the organization YMCA, which did a lot for their next spreading. A lot of campers played them at these summer camps.
